Shine Installs New Roller Veneer Dryer in Thailand

2025/09/10 15:48

Shine, a leading manufacturer of woodworking machinery, ready to complete the installation of a 4-layer 50m roller veneer dryer at a client’s facility in Thailand. This new equipment, tailored for large-format veneer drying, marks another milestone in Shine’s global expansion, particularly in Southeast Asia.

Key Technical Specifications

The roller veneer dryer, designed for high-capacity production, features:

  • Structure: 4 drying layers, with 23 hot air sections and 2 cold air sections, ensuring precise temperature control throughout the drying process.

  • Working Width: 4.5m, optimized for handling wide-format veneers.

  • Heat Source: Powered by a 15-ton biomass burner that burns waste wood, the system utilizes a heat exchanger to transfer thermal energy into the drying chamber. This configuration achieves internal temperatures of 150–180°C, outperforming traditional thermal oil or steam-based systems in maintaining consistent output.

Efficient Configuration & Performance

The dryer integrates advanced technologies to enhance both productivity and energy efficiency:

  • Automation: Equipped with a semi-automatic loading system, it reduces manual labor while ensuring smooth operation. Clients currently use manual unloading, aligning with their operational preferences.

  • Energy-Saving Design: The latest axial flow fans are installed to maintain optimal airflow while reducing overall power consumption, lowering long-term operational costs.

Veneer Drying Capabilities

The equipment is specialized for drying large rubber wood veneers, primarily 1,270mm×670mm in size with a thickness of 1.7mm. Key performance metrics include:

  • Drying Time: A full cycle—from loading to unloading—takes just 8 minutes, ensuring efficient throughput.

  • Quality Assurance: Post-drying, veneers exhibit uniform moisture content and wrinkle-free surfaces, meeting strict quality standards for downstream applications (e.g., furniture, flooring).

Strategic Significance in Thailand

This installation reinforces Shine’s position as a trusted partner in Thailand’s woodworking industry. The roller veneer dryer’s ability to handle large-format, high-thickness veneers efficiently addresses critical pain points in local production, such as inconsistent drying and high energy costs.

“We are proud to deliver a solution that not only meets but exceeds our client’s expectations,” said a Shine representative. “This project demonstrates our commitment to innovation and adaptability in serving global markets.”
